Closing the month is not checking a single screen.

Each source can look internally coherent when viewed alone. Closing truly begins when they are placed side by side and somebody can explain why the figures agree — or why they do not.

Reconciliation does not remove professional judgment. It shows exactly where that judgment needs to begin.

01

The same month appears in different documents

Revenue appears in invoices, appears again in the return, and produces a payment. The bank shows what arrived, but not necessarily in the same period in which it was invoiced. None of these sources tells the complete story on its own.

Aprum’s work has expanded to organize this chain: relating company, reporting period, document, and origin before calculating a difference. A figure stops being merely a field on a screen and gains a document that can be reviewed.

02

A discrepancy should become work, not a generic alert

Saying that something does not match is not enough. The accountant needs both figures, the size of the difference, the missing documents, and the company that should be opened first. The portfolio therefore needs to work as a reporting-period exception queue.

Automation performs the repetitive organization and comparison. The decision to correct, amend, explain, or retain information remains with the professional who knows the client and is accountable for the close.

03

“Matched” needs a limited meaning

In the product, matched means that independent sources reached compatible figures within a stated tolerance. It does not mean that the underlying tax treatment is materially correct, nor does it replace review of classifications, documents, and exceptions.

That is why the close records an author and date, while the report retains engine and table versions. The trail does not manufacture certainty; it makes the path to a conclusion reviewable.

04

Tax reform belongs as a module, not the whole product

The choice between traditional and hybrid IBS/CBS treatment remains important and stays within Aprum. It gains context when it starts from a portfolio that already understands invoices, buyers, suppliers, and reporting periods.

This evolution changes the product’s identity: Aprum is no longer only a September simulation. It is a monthly tax-review operation within which exceptional decisions can be analyzed using explicit sources and assumptions.

This note records a decision and the state observed on its publication date. The product will continue to evolve.
